Getting Started
Welcome to Contribute.
Soooo.. you have chosen Contribute; the most flexible, versatile crowd funding site in New Zealand.
Contribute is here to help creative groups, school groups, sporting groups, cultural groups and more to reach their fundraising goals with the help of generous friends and family and other contributors.
Within your new account you can edit your profile details, change passwords and profile images, view your active and saved projects, connect your funding details, and of course submit fundraising campaigns, or projects.
Updating your Profile

Take the time to fill out your profile, so that potential donors or contributors can read about you.
You can load a project in to the system and start promoting it on social media and receive donations immediately. To do this, click ‘Edit Profile’.
Submitting a Project
Ensure you are logged in to your account and click on ‘Submit Project‘.
Project Video
You can up load YouTube videos and a picture to help spark the interest of potential contributors with something visual. In order to use this feature, you need to find the ‘Embed’ within the YouTube video.
Project Photo
When uploading a photo, the system will automatically crop your image to 360 x 240 pixels. Don’t let this stop you from adjusting the crop, save the image by selecting ‘Crop image’.
Category
Select the correct category for your project. If your project aligns with more than one category, simply email us and we can add it to more categories.
Rewards
Rewards are completely optional. If you don’t plan to offer contributors a reward, then just skip this section. A reward might be free admission to a project launch, or a copy of the youth demo recording or some other incentive to donate. This is a nice way of ‘giving back’ to your contributors and makes them feel appreciated.

Totally radicalize your traditional Hangi fundraiser by taking orders right here, use your Donor list as a guest list.
If creating a reward, set the minimum amount required for your reward, and even create different rewards for different donation amounts.
But please be aware that if you set a reward at minimum donation of $10 for example, you won’t be able to accept donations of anything less than $10 unless you create another ‘reward’ for minimum of zero dollars. If you do this, just label it something like ‘No Reward’ and set the minimum for this ‘No reward’ at $0.
Also please enter the amount of rewards you have on offer. For example, you might only have 20 copies of something to give away. But If creating rewards, I would suggest creating an unlimited amount of ‘No Reward’ options, so set the number at 10000 or something.

Currency
Don’t forget to change the default currency to New Zealand dollars to save on any conversion fees.
Funding Target
Set your target. How much do you see this project raising? Be realistic. Generally, we won’t release funds until the project had reached its target without a valid reason. Once a pay-out is made, your project will be closed. If your project reaches your target, you can still receive donations. But bear in mind, contributors may see that the target has been reached and think that you don’t need their contribution.
Project End Date
Set a date you wish your project to expire. Generally a month or two is a good amount of time.
Describe your project
Finally, tell your story and describe the benefits of your project. Here you can add more photos, graphics and links.
Save or Publish
At the very bottom of the page you can select ‘Save’ or ‘Publish’. If you chose ‘Save’, you can come back for edits later before publishing. Once it is ‘Published’ you cannot make changes.
Once you are happy with your project and you want it to be visible, Go ahead and hit ‘publish’ to make your campaign live.
And that’s it. Your project is able to be promoted and start collecting donations.
Promote your cause
Don’t forget to tell the world about your project and use ‘Share’ icons to promote your cause on social media. Think about email campaigns, Facebook shares.
Connecting with supporters

Within your project page you can see who has donated, and even get in touch to say ‘thanks’, you can also write updates and comments about your campaign to let people know how you’re fundraising or project development is going.
So that is it. You are more than ready to get started with your campaign.
In the next short video we I will show you how to to become a verified account holder and link your funding details which is a One Off process of setting up a funding collection account with Stripe.
So have fun
Get Creative, get innovative and get funded!
